I love the Harvest Moon Series.
Every game had something I disliked and something I liked.
They normally have more stuff I like than dislike so I would never stop buying just because ' The new games aren't like the old ones ' because that isn't a good reason to me to hate a game.

Everyone wanted new ideas!
Yet once you see the ideas in action suddenly alot of those New Ideas that you wanted aren't like the old games.
Of course not, The New Ideas would change the Game!
Alot of people wanted new Characters, done!
You wanted a more challenging game, done!

Don't get me wrong, I liked/like the old games but I like the new ones too.
If you plzyed games since N64..... you know the real change is the graphics!
They got better and better!
To those who say ' the 3D hurts my eyes ' well turn it off using the slider than!

Sorry if my opinions get excited and I use the '!' alot but I am passionate about the games.
I won't let you off saying certain excuses.

There's no debating that the current games are much deeper than the older games. And that should be a good thing: more to do, more variety, more play time. To me, there are two differences. ...

Harvesting Deemphasized. Remember the SNES game? You spent all of the daylight hours harvesting, save for your time in the animal pens, where time stopped. Maybe -- maybe -- you got a chance to go catch one fish or go to one shop. Nowadays, crop work is basically done by mid-morning, even if there is a lot of harvesting. It feels more like Animal Crossing with some farming added. There's something magical about filling a rucksack with crops, dumping them in the shipment box and repeating the process.

Less Charm. Despite the graphical limitations, the old games just seemed to have more charm.The games had more of a pastoral feel, and the people felt more "real" to me. Maybe it's because I started with the older games, but characters such as Ann and Saibara projected more personality with less fluff. I realize you can't keep using the same characters over and over, and that's not what I want, but I think toning them down and making them more basic could make them more endearing.

I was thinking about purchasing a 3DS just so that I'd be able to buy the new game. I love Harvest Moon, and I HOPE ANB will be as fun as the others.

And I also agree with MDofDarkheart. Each game has had something I love about it apart from the others and something I don't particularly care for but I honestly can't think of a single thing that would cause me to completely stop playing the games.

To be honest, I don't like some of the newer Harvest Moons because I personally feel like it's boring and there isn't much to do after you get married. I think it gets reallllly boring. Another reason would be because I don't like how all the new Harvest Moons are on handheld systems. I prefer the Wii and Gamecube systems when I play Harvest Moon. And yes, I already know that people are going to say things like "Those systems are older, they are making games for newer technology.. etc.." I know, I'm just saying, that's why I'd stop buying them, because I don't like the chibi looking characters and all the noticeable tiny pixels.

i was just saying that becuz i was disappointed and becuz i realy love harvest moon why would they force me to stop playing my favourite game because they aren't making it as we want
ok so i will buy every new harvest moon and see how the game will be in the future

I know what you mean by them being different but that is what was requested by fans for years.

I just wanted you to know my view on things.

I love harvest moon and no minor detail would make me give them up.

Did you notice the songs Mikhail plays?
I think they are from AWL and DS version games.
