Once more, your just missing the point but meh, whatever.

It doesn't take 20 ores in AP either to find one with good ore either. xD In fact, ore is like freaking candy in that game.

Well, I think you're missing my point too, so whatever

I was refering to rare ore, not ore in general. Difficulty in general is about the same for most, and as AP is more realistic in my opinion, I like it more

well i think AP is better in mining just because it took me a LONG time to find a lapiz gem but i find that the fishing is better in ToT because even though the time is a little faster when your fishing in AP it still takes a LONG time for the clock to reach 8:00 pm also i felt that the fireworks festival was better in ToT you got to watch it with your honey but i guess both games have their pros and cons ToT makes AP a better game with all the added goodies AP has 2 kids more clothes betting pets easy story and rucksack camera etc.

hope that made sense

@Mockingbird:If you want a realistic faming game may I direct you to:
http://www.amazon.com/SimFarm-Pc/dp/...9594372&sr=8-1

It is possibly the only TRUE farming sim game out there. Also far more realistic then Harvest Moon with it's Wizards, Goddess's, magical bells, walking on rainbows, and many other many unrealistic things. (Well, A[nother] Wonderful Life was a little closer to realistic)

Or perhaps even Shepherd's Crossing.

@gameon: Added gimmicks don't make a game better. xD If that were true, people wouldn't be hailing N64, BTN, etc as superior and awesome HM games. There are far more deeper contents that make a good game.

@Lexy- You seem to like "realistic" when it comes to fishing and farming
I seem to like "realistic" when it comes to mining

You have a trump on the two, but once again, realistic doesn't matter, eh
Personally, I'm not a huge fan of the Goddess, sprites, etc. I kinda just like mining, fishing, farming, ranching, talking, buying, etc. Although I do like stories, just maybe not related to Goddess and co. Maybe some with a little less dependance on it like the old ones, Wonderful Life, or Twin Villages.

So, in this case, I like realistic more. So I don't think this whole argument boils down to realistic fans and nonrealistic fans. It boils down to Dislike of Time vs Like of Gimmricks

The reason I like Harvest Moon is basically just because I became strangely attached to it when I was a kid, don't know why, but I just love it wouldn't play anything else

I guess you could say I'm biased maybe, but I strongly prefer ToT. AP is fun, but I find myself getting frustrated often and mourning the lack of character. Everyone feels flat or extreme, and I don't feel attached to most of them the way I did in ToT. The Wizard/Witch and God only offer so much too. But I did love all of the new clothes and other things, so if you like being fashionable in your game and outfitting your home and kitchen, it might be worth it to stick with AP. Otherwise, I say ToT is the better bet.

I think that if marriage and the bachelor/ettes are essential for you, it's a good idea to get ToT. But ToT also has a very mellow and low key atmosphere compared to AP, so if you like something more bubbly, ToT might not be a game for you.

Honestly, I wouldn't want realistic mining (or farming/ranching/anything) in the style AP has because it feels like you just lose out. And I'd say mining in the real world isn't so randomized (otherwise we wouldn't have so much jewelry floating around!). I liked the way the mechanics of most everything were handled in ToT. The controls and all were nice, and nothing felt like you were always losing out or had high potential to. It felt 'fair'.

Sorry if I rambled there. @u@'
