What am I supposed to do?(Zaid Quest)

Okay so I had just accepted a Zaid quest and he wanted to look for a phantom ore of some sort I believe. He said to look for it in the ice forest (with him in tow...) and he had "Borrowed" a book from Ondorus. and now I'm in the forest near Death wall and now I don't know what to do.

I hope someone know what to do for I don't....

If it is the same as the Japanese Version, hear is what a guide for the Japanese version says for that quest:

How to do: Go to the River Dungeon.
You need ハスライダーの種 [Lily Pad M.S.] or みずぐも [Water Shoes] to do this Quest.
Visit Zaid at his tent, he’ll request you help him find an Item. It’s located at the River Dungeon. At first you must go to the area (by walking, not by across water), kill all Monsters and the Monster Gate at right side.
Use the Lily Pad M.S. or Equip Water Shoes to across the river to left side (don’t use the teleport point, or Monsters at that area’ll reset). Kill all Monsters and the Monster Gate, now talk with Zaid again (he must alive to talk). Continue go Northwestern to the area.
If you do correct, Zaid’ll notice you (if not, it’s because you don’t kill all Monsters at previous area yet). Kill all Monster and Monster Gate at this area, talk with Zaid (he must alive), he’ll run to Northwest corner.
Now examine the Northeast corner, you’ll found the メッシライト鉱石 [Messhiraito Ore]. You two come back Zaid’s tent and he’ll give the ore to Ondorus. Quest Completed!!!

EDIT: The River dungeon is the Fall Dungeon, not Winter.
